The opportunity to photograph the UniqPals team was incredible! When I connected with their CEO, Lucy, and reviewed the UniqPals product offering, I knew we would create some beautiful moments that truly highlight the purpose of the UniqPals brand.

An early Saturday morning after big rainstorms, I headed out to a local Atlanta park and trail system to photograph Lucy, Alex, Jerry, Ace, and Nova for their amazing and empowering brand, UniqPals. UniqPals is on a mission to promote health, wellness, and awareness through accessible dog supplies for people and pets of various abilities. The team envisions a more inclusive world by making adventures accessible and equitable. They accomplish this by providing a portion of proceeds to an organization called Paws with a Cause and increasing awareness for disabilities such as Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and Autism with their product offerings.

UniqPals Dog Walking Leashes - Accessible Dog Products

Lucy and Alex head up the company that started as a project to help them get outside and be active with the dogs during the pandemic. Lucy, while out on a walk with Alex and their canine crew, noticed that she didn’t have a way to help or ensure everyone’s safety, both dog and human. We’ve all had those moments where the leash slips and your dog just keeps trotting along!

After one particular instance, Lucy went on a mission to find a leash that could be used by two people walking one dog. Despite her hours of research, she couldn’t find anything like what she had pictured in her mind. That’s how UniqPals was born! Lucy and Alex designed and created their Guardian Leash. The Guardian Leash includes two leashes with separate handles so Alex can walk their dog Jerry on his own and Lucy can support or assist as needed. The team has taken a thoughtful and innovative approach to leash design.

UniqPals offers three different types of leashes (as pictured below):

  • Guardian Leash offering the support for two people to walk one dog together

  • Hands-free Leash belts around the mid-waist and links human and dog

  • Single Leash with two handles available for when a bit of extra support may be needed

Each of these leashes will be available in three different colors to increase awareness for Down Syndrome (blue and yellow), Cerebral Palsy (green), and Autism (multi-color). Additionally, each leash is adorned with neoprene handles for improved grip and reflective stitching.

Empowering an active lifestyle is important to Lucy and Alex. They are both an integral part of the UniqPals brand and the pair has also enjoyed the companionship of dogs throughout their life and often reflect on the benefits of canine love.

You can support UniqPals by heading over to their website www.uniqpals.com and signing up for their product launch slated for September 2022! They have a launch special if you sign up with your email for news, community updates, and launch information.

Additionally, give them a follow-on Facebook, Instagram, and Tiktok. For every purchase not only are you supporting the empowerment of people from all walks of life; you are supporting Paws with a Cause, too! Paws with a Cause supports people with disabilities nationally through custom-trained assistance dogs. Go check this team out and get active with your dog!
